Burial at Sea - Episode One supposedly took place prior to the fall of Rapture, while Episode Two is set during the conflict. Elisabeth wasn't just the match that set it off, the whole point of BAS was that she was the one that ensured (good ending) Bioshock ended the way it did, with Jack getting to Rapture and saving all the Little Sisters Without Elizabeth we would eventually have had the civil war, just without Jack crashing in at the end.
There’s some dialogue from Splicers in 2 that references the ambiguity of it. But, also, I don’t know if you’ve played Infinite’s DLC or not, but the end of Burial at Sea 2 seems to imply that the good ending is canon.

I jumped to Infinite immediately and I've played through all that and Burial at Sea Episode 1. However I've heard people say it's dumb to play Burial at Sea Episode 2 before you've played BioShock 1 & 2 because it would be too many spoilers and such things. My question is if I should play BioShock 1 & 2 before I play Burial at Sea Episode 2 or does it not
