There's no definitive review of the RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IQ currently available. The 24-105 will become 38-166 on the R7 due to the APS-C crop factor. Many would say that 18mm on a crop is too zoomed in to be a really useful do everything lens. 24mm on a crop would be very limiting for that purpose. I disagree. I have both the EF 24-105 f4 and RF 24-240 that I use on an R6. I got the 24-240 as a hiking lens as I didn't want to always have to walk with a heavy bag and carry 2-3 lenses with me. Whilst I agree it is a very decent lens for the price the image quality is not at all comparable to the EF24-105 f4Compare Canon RF 24-105mm f 4 L IS USM Lens vs Canon EF 70-200mm f 2.8L IS II USM Lens vs Canon EF 70-200mm f Tips & Reviews. Yes, exactly. If you read their review of the Olympus 12-40/4 Pro, a lens I have owned, you'll find that this lens uncorrected at 12 mm has a distortion very similar to that of the RF 24-105/4-7.1 at 24 mm. But in this case they say that it doesn't matter, it's the corrected result that counts.
TWO CHOICES: F4 L or F4-7.1? Don't be fooled — they are both great. But there's a large price difference. Sharing my thoughts after using both.VIDS & LINKSCa bMqG09.
