Extra added lights only turn on together with high beam and only if they have first been activated in the vehicle setup menu (F4) The activation of the extra lights will automatically be disabled if you make constructive changes to your truck in a workshop, and sometimes a game update also results in the extra lights being disabled.

In a way, you may need to press the L key many times to get to the light mode you wanted. If you want to turn on the auxiliary lights, press F4, select Adjust lights, and enable additional illumination. You can also set up the beacon and parking lights here.

Just switch gears to reverse and they should turn on. They automatically turn on when the truck is in Reverse. They will not light up otherwise. If they are not lighting up in reverse, then the mod you are using is broken. you go in reverse its automatic .
In game, depending on how low the pressure is (unless they changed the settings), you can't even start. If thats the case one needs to run the engine on higher revs in Neutral gear for a couple of seconds, maybe a minute.

When using version 1.39 the frame rate is about 60 fps, even in the area with a lot of light. But when I came to version 1.40 Open Beta in one place, the frame rate dropped to about 30 fps.
The changes that we are introducing with the 1.40 update for both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 have been visible to the public for some time now, in the currently still ongoing Open Beta builds.
