Death Note is a complex anime that is so popular that it has been adapted multiple times - nonetheless has flaws in how it presents the story. The plot can occasionally get so convoluted that fans can find some plot points unnecessary and problematic, such as Raye Penber's unprofessionalism during the bus jacking early in the series. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but for good reason. This anime is about someone who enters a battle royale style death game where 12 people have to fight to the death. They're each given a diary that predicts the future, each unique to the owner in how it operates. The winner gets to become God of space and time. Death Note was the first anime I ever saw. I have never seen such a good story in any tv show but now I am clueless what other anime I can watch whose story would keep me on the edge of my chair all the time just like death note did.
